RECEPTION

AS SHE SEES IT

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Debra Williams is a self-taught artist and upcycler whose work is rooted by an rural upbringing shaped by scarcity, resilience and invention. Raised on a small family farm without access to traditional art supplies, she learned early to create with what was available. Long before upcycling had a name, she was transforming overlooked fragments of rural life, barn paint, newspaper, broken crockery, salvaged wood, fabric and discarded machinery parts, into layered, expressive works.

Today, Williams produces both two- and three-dimensional pieces. Her work is marked with an emotional intensity that invites attention, exploring the tension that lies between subject and viewer.

Enjoy a free reception and meet artist Debra Williams as she shows current works in her first solo opening.
